Who we serve, and how

Ages

2 through 21.

Setting

In the family's home and community, with BCBA oversight in person and by telehealth.

Diagnosis

None needed to refer. Insurers require a written ASD diagnosis before authorization, and intake walks the family through it if they don't have one yet.

New Jersey, Georgia and North Carolina

Accepting new families with no waitlist

Every county we serve in New Jersey, Georgia and North Carolina. After you refer: sign-on at the family's pace, assessment within a week of the paperwork, therapy while authorization runs. The week-by-week picture is in the First 90 Days guide.

Services are delivered in the family's home in all three states; offices are in Lakewood and Hackensack, New Jersey, and Macon and Warner Robins, Georgia.

What happens after you refer

Same business day

Intake calls the parent or guardian, explains next steps, and emails you to confirm we received the referral. Weekend referrals are called the next business day.

Before the consultation

We verify benefits directly with the payer and check whether the plan needs a physician referral or prior authorization. The family hears verified numbers before the first appointment.

About one week after sign-on

A BCBA completes the assessment in the home (Vineland with VB-MAPP or AFLS) and writes a six-month treatment plan.

Under six weeks

Our average from assessment to the first direct session. We do not wait for authorization to begin matching a therapist.

Ongoing

Reassessment every six months. With the family's written consent, we send you a note when services start and a progress summary at each reauthorization.

Insurance, and what we need from your office

New Jersey: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield / Anthem, Cigna, ComPsych, MagnaCare, Meritain Health, UnitedHealthcare and Medicaid, with ABA covered under EPSDT to age 21. Georgia: Blue Cross Blue Shield / Anthem, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare and Medicaid. North Carolina: Aetna, Ambetter, Blue Cross Blue Shield, MedCost, the State Health Plan and Medicaid. We verify benefits and obtain authorization before the first appointment, at no cost to the family.

From your office: nothing beyond the referral. If a plan requires a physician referral or prescription for ABA, our intake team tells the family and coordinates it with you. No forms to complete, and no records unless the family asks you to send them.

Under 3, or already in Early Intervention

Families commonly use their state's Early Intervention program and Mastermind at the same time. Our services are funded through the family's health coverage rather than the state system, so they continue without a break across the age-3 transition to the school district.

Each state has a single point of entry. We keep the phone number for every county, district and agency, verified each quarter, on our state pages:

New Jersey: NJEIS contacts by county

Georgia: Babies Can't Wait contacts by health district

North Carolina: Infant-Toddler Program contacts by CDSA

Clinical standards

Every case is designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, state-licensed (LBA) in New Jersey and North Carolina, where licensure applies. A Behavior Technician delivers 10 to 30 hours a week in the home with weekly BCBA supervision, and the plan is adjusted from session data. Parent training is built into every program. We coordinate with the school and the child's other providers.

Common questions

Do you need the diagnosis report to accept a referral?

No. The referral form asks only whether a diagnosis exists. Intake collects the report from the family later, because the insurer needs it for authorization.

Does the family need to agree before I refer?

Yes. The form asks you to confirm the family knows about the referral and agrees to be contacted. Intake then calls the family directly.

Will you take a child who is already receiving ABA elsewhere?

Families transitioning from another provider or a center-based program are welcome. We ask the family for their end date with the current provider and confirm it with their insurance plan before services begin with us.

Which states do you serve?

New Jersey, Georgia and North Carolina, all in-home, with one referral form for every state. We are currently accepting new families in every county we serve, with no waitlist.

Can I speak to a clinician before referring?

Yes. Call 732.813.7333 and ask for the intake coordinator; she can arrange a call with a BCBA.
